1. Unite for Literacy Online Library - provides free access to more than 400 original picture books, one fourth of them written in Spanish. The digital books provide audio narrations in more than 40 languages, spoken by native speakers in warm, expressive voices. The languages of narration include indigenous and endangered languages along with languages most widely spoken in the US. Click on the Narration button in the top, left area of the screen to search for books by available narration language.

2. Starfall - A place where students have fun while practicing reading skills. The website incorporates rhyming games and high-interest books to teach phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding skills and comprehension.

3. Roy the Zebra - Interactive games, stories and resources to help emerging readers learn to read.

4. Storyline Online - This site contains online, streaming videos featuring Screen Actors Guild members reading books aloud. Each book includes accompanying activities and lesson ideas.

5. Anderson Fairy Tales - Students can listen to and read the classic folk stories and fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen. There are also games for each story.

6. Elements of a Story Interactive - This interactive version of Cinderella goes over the elements of a story including heroes, plot and setting.

7. Into the Book- This site is a reading comprehension resource for K-4 students and teachers. It focuses on eight research-based strategies: Using Prior Knowledge, Making Connections, Questioning, Visualizing, Inferring, Summarizing, Evaluating and Synthesizing. Students can watch engaging 15-minute videos and learn from the online, interactive activities that teach the strategies. *Note: Students will be given a login key which you may want to record for future use

8. Clifford Interactive Story Books - Interactive books about Clifford the Big Red Dog. The books are available in English and Spanish. There are also links to four phonics games. Scroll down to find activities for interactive white boards and more.

9. Storynory - In this collection of audio stories you will find a mixture of new stories, fairy tales, and specially adapted myths and histories. The text of the stories is available if you are listening online. The mp3 files are downloadable so students could also listen via mp3 players.
